Maylene & the Sons of Disaster, this past Tuesday, released a limited edition, two song, hand numbered 7’’ . thePULSErocks.com is excited to catch them coming up in less than a week apart of “Scream the Prayer” Tour in Kettering, Ohio at The Attic.

The piece features the songs “Where the Saints Roam” and “Cheap Thrills Cost the Most” as well as a digital deluxe version of their album III. That will have both b-sides as well as the video for the hit song Step Up (I’m On It).

Maylene & the Sons of Disaster are headlining the Scream The Prayer Tour this summer. Dates are below.

Maylene & the Sons of Disaster formed in Birmingham, AL in 2004, featuring vocalist, Dallas Taylor, formerly of Underoath. They released /// on June 23, 2009 and have scanned over 22,000 copies to date. The album debuted at #71 on the Top 200, #7 on the Indie Chart, and #9 on the Hard Music chart. Their first release with Ferret, //, has garnered critical acclaim and scanned over 40,000. Over the past couple years, Maylene has toured with All that Remains, Emery, Killswitch Engage and Saosin to name a few. Their hit, “Step Up (I’m on It)” has been featured in multiple WWE promotions, the World Series, Zippo, Sons of Anarchy, and more

thePULSErocks.com has been lovin’ the new cd from Pillar…and we thought we would fill you in a little more about the Band and their tour this summer.

Lets look into the new album “Confessions, the Essential Records act’s sixth studio album. Change may have been a key ingredient before, but this time around, it was a bonafide litmus test. First up, the recent additions of bassist Rich Gilliland (KJ-52, Brandon Heath) and drummer Taylor Carroll (After Edmund) to Pillar‘s lineup. “Every single step of the way over the past 12 years, God has always put the right people in place for Pillar to take a huge step forward,” affirms Beckley. “And we can already tell this time is no different. In the past, we have had great bass players and drummers, but no one ever talked about our rhythm section as a unit.” That was then. As he explains, “We’re still a guitar-driven band, but now, for the first time, we have a tight rhythm section with a serious groove. Musicianwise, this is the strongest lineup we’ve ever had.” And both on the road and Confessions, it shows. (But let’s not get ahead of ourselves)

As if entering the recording studio with a game-changing rhythm section wasn’t enough, Beckley and Pillar guitarist Noah Henson–the band’s principal songwriters the past eight years–made an unprecedented move in pre-production by collaborating with several prolific writers outside the band. While Beckley once again handled most of the lyrics, he and Henson teamed with the likes of Chris Stevens (tobyMac, Sanctus Real), Skidd Mills (Saving Abel, Skillet), Keith Wallen (Fuel), Red guitarist Jasen Rauch, and Building 429 front man Jason Roy to take Pillar‘s music into yet further new territory. ”When you’ve got four or five brilliant minds creating songs with you, it brings magic into the creative process,” says Pillar‘s Henson. “That’s why collaboration is the ultimate musical standard these days. A perfect example is our new single at rock radio, “Fire On the Inside.” Chris Stevens wrote the chorus, I wrote the riffs on the verses, and Jason Roy co-wrote the lyrics with Rob.”

“AJ and I went to the 4th of July fireworks in the ritzy part of town 2 years ago” states lead singer Tim Skipper. “We had parked in a neighborhood nearby and had to walk a bit. All of the houses were deserted and the garage doors were open and it was just very bizarre. AJ looked at us and said, “This would be heaven for some punk kids looking to rob these people.” A week and a few sweet riffs later, we had a song about that very thing. We’re always trying to think of interesting subject matter to write about, and I think this song really stands out. Plus, it’s about as balls out rock n’ roll as anything we’ve ever done! We’ve created a nice little collection of fans through www.freehoh.com and we’re just dying to get some music from ‘Suburba’ out to them, so giving away a song called ‘Independence Day For a Petty Thief ‘a week before July 4th, just fits so well”

SUBURBA is an album like nothing else you will hear today. And for that fact alone, it is a victory of epic proportions. Endlessly poppy, galactically ambitious, and dripping with honest, candid emotion, this is what a rock record is supposed to sound like. This is what a rock record is supposed to feel like.

Time again to highlight some of the new music we are playing on thePULSErocks.com. This time around it’s a band called “FallStar”. The song you will hear on thePULSErocks.com is called “Open Hands” from their ablum ‘Come&Live! I Am Living Vol.1′

Fallstar has come a long way in just a year. After solidifying their lineup in the summer of 2008, the Portland based hardcore five piece set out to make a name for themselves beyond the local scene. A relentless work ethic coupled with a strong faith in the Lord (that has been tested time and time again) and acknowledging that this is what He has planned for their futures; Fallstar earned an endorsement deal with Veil Arms Clothing which, in November of 2008, catapulted them into their furthest reaching tour to date, a tour that changed all five members’ hearts and minds forever.

Aside from personal changes and convictions in the members’ lives, they were also given the chance to partner with missionary organization Come & Live (www.comeandlive.com). With C&L now launched, the boys of Fallstar are once again poised on the edge of change and they couldn’t be more ready for the challenge. This band is constantly feeling the creative itch and has just wrapped up their soon to be released debut full length album Reconciler, Refiner, Igniter.

Inspired lyrics, harsh and innovative sounds, an unmatched live show and the driving will to reach as many people for the Lord as possible is what sets Fallstar apart from the pack.

“The Afters” has a new music out. Did you get EP from the band will release on July 13 and feature new songs “Light Up the Sky,” “We Won’t Give Up” and “Runaway.” The band’s third full-length album titled Light Up the Sky will street on Sept. 14.

Texas-based band The Afters were propelled into the national spotlight with their INO/Sony Music Label Group debut I Wish We All Could Win. The project spawned the swirling, melodic hit “Beautiful Love,” earning the band an enthusiastic following when the song was selected as the theme track for MTV’s “8th and Ocean”. “Beautiful Love” was also the most downloaded track of 2006 on the iTunes ® Inspirational charts and garnered the band an mtvU award as well. With their debut exceeding the expectation, status quo simply would not do for their second album. It is this powerful transformation that lies at the core of The Afters’ sophomore release Never Going Back To OK (INO/Columbia Records).
